I can't find my McConnel machine's model number listed on this page, how do I find the replacement fan that I need?
The best way to be sure of getting the correct replacement is to match by the fans SPAL TYPE or "VA" number. This is located on a sticker on the motor casing of the fan. Fans on this page appear to be the identical to the fan I find on my McConnel Power Arm Hedge Cutter, are these fans genuine McConnel parts?
The fans on this page are not marketed as genuine McConnel parts as we are sourcing these directly from SPAL Automotive - the manufacturer of these fans. SPAL is an Italian manufacturer and are the market leader in the design and manufacture of automotive HVAC blowers and radiator fans. Many OEMs specify SPAL quality products for their own cooling and ventilation requirements.
If these oil cooler fans have the same specification and quality as my OEM fitted one why is the price so much lower?
Again, this is because we are sourcing these directly from the fan manufacturer without going through McConnel (the OEM) and then the McConnel dealer. All fans sold on malpasAirflow are backed a sector leading 36 month manufacturer warranty - other aftermarket fans usually only have 12months warranty (or even less).
Can I upgrade my cooling fan to a more powerful one?
It depends. Assuming the physical dimensions are compatible, you need to make sure the more powerful fan's current draw does not exceed the amperage your machine's electrical system limits. You can find all the technical specifications on the fan's product page. Voltage, direction (blowing or suction) should also match your original fan. Please note airflow direction is not reversible on SPAL fans as the design is optimised for air flowing in the intended direction.
